My Cricut Craft Room- Card Creating Tuesday

Welcome to Funky Cards and
 Card Creating Tuesdays

Good morning and welcome back to My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesdays.  I hope to inspire you with my work today and to encourage you to try something new! As you know, each week I will be sharing with you new cards that I have designed and adding a few tips that I have learned along the way.

Today I have another one of my birthday cards to share with you.  This really is a simple, quick, and easy card that you can make in minutes.

Once again, if you start with the right background paper, you can embellish around it and in no time have a pretty card.

Recipe:

***Today's tip- Working with sentiments
Sometimes I pop up my sentiments and sometimes I don't.  It is a personal preference, but for me, I like to pop them up when it is a matter of balancing out the design.

As you can see for this card, if the sentiment isn't popped here, there will be too much white on white.  In person you can really tell the difference.  There needs to be a big dimensional difference so I used thick pieces of pop dots.

This really gives the sentiment a nice lift off the ribbon.  I wish you can see the difference this makes but the pictures don't really capture what I am trying to say:)

Another way to keep the white on white from being a problem is to ink the edges of the sentiment.  This photo is a bit blurry (sorry) but I think you can still see that by adding a bit of ink to the sentiment, it sets it off from the ribbon.  Also adding some dots takes away from all the blank white space.

My mom left my camera in San Diego.  I hope to have my camera soon so I can start taking better pictures!!!!  Thanks for your patience with these photos.

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by My Cricut Craft Room to see what the other Design Team members have in store for you today at Card Creating Tuesdays:)

  1. Beautiful card Madison! I love, love how you went with the background paper an embellished it. I agree with the sentiment. I sometimes like to pop it up or leave it flat. TFS

  2. You did a great job Madison. I made a christmas card the other day and the background paper was so pretty that it required little embellishing to make it a beautiful card. Which is what I think you did here. Your card really rocks.
