Welcome to Funky Cards and
Good morning and welcome back to My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesdays. I hope to inspire you with my work today and to encourage you to try something new! As you know, each week I will be sharing with you new cards that I have designed and adding a few tips that I have learned along the way.
Today I am sharing a Gate fold card with you. To see how to make a Gate fold card click HERE. This is a baby card that I was asked to design for the grandmother of a newborn baby. The the outside is personalized with a picture of the baby.
Click on the photo to enlarge. The inside is personalized with information about the birth of the baby.

This is just my preference, but when I pull my colors together to start designing a card first I look at the color of the background paper to find a color/s that just barely makes an appearance. I then try to draw this color out with my other card stock or embellishments.
There are hints of burgundy and blue mixed in with this brown/tan patterned paper so I went with burgundy and blue accents. This needed a third, different color, and I decided on black.
The black worked well for the embellishment and the color of the ink for the printing. I don't use black ink unless it works with the rest of the project. When necessary I run computer generated information through a color printer.
Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to stop by My Cricut Craft Room to see what the other Design Team members have in store for you today at Card Creating Tuesdays:)

Fabulous card, Madison. I'm sure the grandmother receiving this must have been totally amazed to see her grandson's photo directly on this personalized card. What a start to a collection of memories of Levi. You continue to produce such creative cards. Keep up the good work.
