CWC Wonderful Wednesday

Welcome to Funky Cards
CWC Wonderful Wednesday

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are teaming up with the I Feel the Love Project to design and create handcrafted greeting cards for the parents of Baby Mason.  Baby Mason was just six months old when his life was taken because the car he was riding in was struck by a drunk driver.  His grieving parents can really use our support and love as they go through this difficult time in their lives.  Please consider joining us this month as we take the time to show we care by sending and sharing our thoughts in the form of greeting cards.  This week my mom Cindy and I have both made cards to share with you.

Here is my mom's card.  She used the Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge to create a vase full of flowers and added a sentiment that says, "God Bless You."

To give a bit of a pop, the flowers are 3D paper flowers with added gems in the middle. (click on the photo to enlarge.)

I used the Florals Embellish to create my card.
The sentiment reads, "Praying for your comfort in this season of sadness."  The sentiment was paired with the greens, purples, and blues.  I thought these colors looked really soothing.  The card was embossed and inked and paper flowers were added for the finishing touches.

Craft with Cutters Challenge #137

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are celebrating the letter "S"  as we are crafting with Cricut cartridges that start with the letter "S."  This week my mom Cindy and I have both made cards to share with you.

Here is my mom's card: The inspiration for my project was easy!

I just found out that my son, Dalton, earned a promotion. Dalton is now a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy. Congratulations Dalton on a job well done and thank you for your service!

The anchor and sailor hat were cut from the
Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge.

The sentiment was generated using the Cameo.

My card, the second card, was made for a friend.

As you can probably guess, this card was made using the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge. This was a fun card to make and I liked the way it turned out!

Pink

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World
are seeing PINK!
The inspiration for my project was easy!  This past Saturday was my Senior Prom and once again I was asked by my group to make the name cards for the table.  We were going for a vintagelook this year.
The lace was white. With a bit of fabric paint and water,
I was able to achieve a more vintage look.

The actual tag on the card was made using the Going Places Cricut cartridge.  The names were computer generated.  A bit of inking was done around the edges.  I love how they turned out.

They looked so pretty on the table.

There were 24 friends in our group and each person had their own name card.  I have loved making these keepsakes for my friends each year.

Card Outreach

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are participating in the I Feel the Love Project card outreach! This is very special to me as it is the project that I started and run each month.  I would be honored if you would consider making a card for this week's challenge.  We are collecting cards in May to be handed out in June just in time for Father's Day.  They will be going to a very deserving dad, Reggie.  You can read all about this amazing man by clicking HERE.

This month my mom and I both made cards for this post.  First let me share my mom's card with you.

The message is clear, STAY STRONG! It is something that Ashley's dad Reggie has  been doing since Ashley had cancer the first time as a young child.  Using the Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge two butterflies were created to symbolize the joy and fun times she has shared with her father.

My card was designed with simple, clean lines and a personal message.  This seemed appropriate for a masculine card and I was pleased with the results.  Using the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge, several circles and shadows were cut to hold the sentiments.

The card was also embossed and stitched to give it more pop.

Card Outreach

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are participating in the I Feel the Love Project card outreach! This is very special to me as it is the project that I started and run each month.  I would be honored if you would consider making a card for this week's challenge as it will be going to a very special family, the Butcher family: mom Debbie; Ryan, 11; Kyle, 9; Ally, 5; and Mady, 3.  Debbie is a former CWC Design Team Member who recently lost her husband to cancer.  You can read all about this amazing family by clicking HERE.

This month I am happy to announce that my mom, Cindy, has joined the CWC Design Team and will be joining my blog!  This will be her first post and first card.  Welcome Mom :)
Hi everyone, for my first card I wanted to make something for Ally, the 5 year old child of Ed and Debbie Butcher. Losing a parent is hard and I wanted to create a card that represented a sense of peace and tranquility.  Using the Kate's ABC's (girl), Create a Critter (squirrel), and Home Decor and More (tree) Cricut cartridges, I am hoping that this was accomplished.

The swing was hand cut with a paper cutter and floss was used for the rope.  For a little pop, the girl's dress was embossed and inked and a paper flower was added to her hat.

Easter

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are celebrating Easter.  However you choose to spend Easter this Sunday, I would like to say to you God Bless you and your family and enjoy your day.

My project for the week came together as a cute Easter card that could be given to anyone.

The Create a Critter Cricut cartridge was used to cut the grass and the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge was used to cut the oval.  As you can tell, I love embossed paper, so out came the Cuttlebug to emboss the background papers and grass for this project.

Once assembled, the digi stamp was prepared.  I found this adorable Easter baby duck at Papercraftingworld.com.  It came pre-colored so all that had to be done was to cut it out and add it to the card.  How amazing is that?

Card Outreach

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are participating in the I Feel the Love Project card outreach!  This is very special to me as it is the project that I started and run each month.  I would be honored if you would consider making a card for this week's challenge as it will be going to a very special 4-year old girl named Claire.  You can read all about Claire and this month's project by clicking HERE.

I thought I would do something a bit different this month.  I decided to make Claire a shaped one sided card that she could hang on her wall if she wanted or leave somewhere up in her room.  It is colorful and cute and just the kind of thing that a 4 year old girl would like.

Patterned paper was used to give this bird a colorful and fun look.  She was cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and embossed with the paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Several gems were added to her belly and tail to give her some extra sparkle.

The back of the card has a journaling box so that I can write a special note to Claire.  The box was cut using the phrase feature on the raccoon page (page 33) also found on the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.

Love Your Pet

This week we ladies at My Paper Crafting World are loving on our pets! Well, as you know if you follow me, we are dog lovers at our house. So, it was time once again to make a new project honoring the Womack dogs.
This is actually a canvas, not a layout.  I first painted the background a dark green color.  Next using the Pooh Font Set (words), Create a Critter (bone) and the From My Kitchen (paw print) Cricut cartridges, I embellished the canvas.  All that was left was to add the adorable pictures of Chuck and Simba.  They are each other's best friend.  They have each other's back!  They love to sleep right next to each other. Chuck is the yellow lab that actually looks very red and Simba is the golden retriever who looks very light.

Card Outreach

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are joining the I Feel the Love Project to create cards for Alana, an amazing young lady who lost her family home and most of her belongings during Hurricane Sandy.

This sweet card was made using the Wall Decor and More (tree, rooster and fence) and Create a Critter (kite, grass) Cricut cartridges.  The card says "wishing you everything wonderful," which of course I do!!

We would love to have you join us this month at the I Feel the Love Project.  Click HERE to get all the information on how you can create a card for Alana.  Selfless acts of kindness such as making cards for others can feel amazing!
