Welcome to Funky Cards

Good morning everyone! Welcome to Day Twenty of My Papercrafting's 3rd Annual 25 Days of Christmas and Year 'Round Crafting Showcase!

I are so happy you have joined us! We have 25+ designers who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to create some spectacular projects to share with you! So pull up a comfy chair, grab your favorite beverage and get ready to be inspired! Each day will feature a variety of projects that will include:

~ Cricut Cartridges;

~ Electronic Die Cutting Files (SVG type --using Pazzles, Silhouette, Gazelle, Cameo, etc.);
~ Digital Stamps with coloring (Using Copics, digital and other coloring mediums);
~ Stamping and Inking; and
~ Traditional dies, punches and all the other tools we love!

Here is the project that I designed and created using my Cricut and the Plantin SchoolBook and Sweethearts Cricut cartridges.

I love making stocking stuffers for my craft fairs.  They are easy to make and turn out really nice.  These are mini notebooks that come with a mini pen.  Using any tag template that you prefer, cut out a back and front for each notebook out of chipboard such as a cereal box.  Then cut out an additional front and back for each book using decorative patterned paper. Adhere the paper to the chipboard.

Decorate the cover with your choice of matching embellishments.  Bind the book together and add pretty ribbon.  If you look carefully you can see the mini pen added at the binding.
As mentioned above, we will be giving away FREE digital die cutting files, digital printables and vintage graphics. Please note: Each day we will have new files. Be sure to stop by each day as they will be free one day onlyPlease also note, the free files will have a price listed by them, but when you add them to your cart to check out, they will be free during the day they are posted only. These files have been generously donated by PaperCraftingWorld.com. Welcome to Funky Cards

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the horrific events that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary today.  I cannot even begin to understand this.  Please stop and say a prayer for those involved if you feel moved to do so.

Heartbroken today.

I want to pay tribute to the members of our military as we celebrate the 4th of July.  The military figure was cut from the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge, while the words were made using the Pooh Font Set Cricut cartridge.  The adorable digital stamp (Bear I Heart USA) can be found at Papercraftingworld.com.

Stocking Stuffers or Fun Gift Ideas

Welcome to Funky Cards

Finally, a moment to craft!  Between work, school, and a special project that I can't quite talk about yet I have been so busy.  This is a crazy time of year at Michael's and it seems like I am always at work.  I love it, but I miss my crafting time!!

I have been following the monthly activities at Jaded Blossom. This website and store were started by Candace and Michelle, two super talented ladies that I really like!!

I wanted to get in on the fun so I made a project for the Crafter's Choice monthly challenge.  The requirements include using a product from the Jaded Blossom collection.  I used three products, two stamps and treat bags.

The toppers for the candy sticks were made using the reindeer stamp from the Reindeer Magic Stamp Set and the Snowman stamp from the Snowman Kisses Stamp Set.

These are of course clear stamps.  Here is what I did to transform them to these cute toppers:
  1. Ink them in black onto white card stock.
  2. Scan them onto the computer.
  3. Load them into Photoshop.
  4. Color them.
  5. Export them into into Silhouette Studio.
  6. Add graphics, print and cut.
  7. Adhere a back that was cut from the Accents Essentials Cricut cartridge.
This sounds like a lot of work, but really it took a matter of minutes.

Two wrapped candy packages of Smarties were placed inside the 1" x 8" treat bags.  These bags can be purchased through Jaded Blossom.

Once the candy was secure, the toppers can be adhered with a matching blank, red back (cut from the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge) using tape or glue, your preference.

I hope you have been inspired to try making some of these.  They are so fun and easy to do!

Thank you for stopping by.

25 Days of Christmas and Year "Round Showcase

Welcome to Funky Cards

Good morning everyone! Welcome to Day THREE of My Papercrafting's 3rd Annual 25 Days of Christmas and Year 'Round Crafting Showcase!

Here is the project that I designed and created using my Cricut and the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.

I thought it would be fun to make a treat box and fill it with homemade brownies.  To decorarte the box I used the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge to cut out hearts of increasing sizes.  Three different papers were used to create additional dimension.  The hearts were adhered to the front of the treat box with ATG tape.  This is a quick and easy project and yet it makes a great gift for a friend or special someone.  Valentine's Day will be here before we know it!  Have a wonderful day.
As mentioned above, we will be giving away FREE digital die cutting files, digital printables and vintage graphics. Please note: Each day we will have new files.
