Disney Pixar Blog Hop

Welcome to Funky Cards and our 2nd
Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Jenny's blog, you are in the right place, if you happened here by chance, please head back to the beginning by clicking on the DISNEY button above so you don't miss any of the adorable Disney projects today:)

I am so excited to be back as part of this blog hop.  Who doesn't love Disney?  I had an idea to create a growth chart for a toddler's bedroom and it was so fun to make:)
I know not everyone can stay in the same home as their children grow, so what happens to the special marks you make on the wall when you leave? Well, how about taking them with you?

"How Tall Are You"
On this growth chart you are able to record your child's name, date, age, and how tall they were on that day!

Winnie the Pooh is a removable marker that tells you how tall your child is at the current time:)  He is held on by two way tape.  You can choose to remove him and replace him with a smaller Pooh or decorative honey pot or you can keep him there and just keep adding more Poohs as you go!!  It is up to you!  As you chart your child's growth, the growth chart will become more decorative:)

You can start the chart at whatever measurement you would like, but remember to hang it from the floor at the correct height!

When you are finished with the chart you can take it down and save it as a keepsake so you will always know how tall your kids were at any given age:) I didn't write on mine so that it can be used!!

The card reads:
"May you find courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today."

The bird (your friend or loved one) may need courage to face tomorrow and may this card and love you send be what it takes to help make today a better day.

Cooking With Cricut - Spring Flowers

Welcome to Funky Cards &
Cooking With Cricut Challenge #27- Spring Flowers

I hope you are all having a wonderful spring day.  The rain has finally stopped here. The roses are blooming in our yard and spring has finally arrived! This week at Cooking With Cricut we are challenging you to create a project with spring flowers.

I wanted to use this cute cut that I received in a cut swap a recently participated in. I thought that whoever made this did a wonderful job:) Does anyone recognize this as theirs? I really wanted to know which cartridge it came from.  Anybody?  It was my inspiration for my spring card.  I decided to leave my card as a blank so that it could be used for any occasion that the user wanted.

Please be sure to visit the Cooking With Cricut blog to see what the other design team members have cooked up for you. You have until next Tuesday to enter this week's challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize. Click HERE to enter.

Gaby's Earth Day Birthday

Welcome to Funky Cards &
Gaby's Earth Day - Birthday Celebration!

I want to wish Gaby a very Happy Birthday:) She is one of the nicest, sweetest, crafting friends I know and I pray she has the best birthday ever!!  If you found your way here by chance you can head back to Gaby's blog and start at the beginning of this hop- Click HERE.  If you just came from Daily Grace Creations you are in the right place.

Gaby loves GREEN so I made her this green easel birthday card:)

It was really hard to photograph for some reason.

It says Happy Birthday and there is a place to write my special note just on the cream colored paper:)  For those of you who have never made an easel card they are fun and easy to do.  Just click HERE and check out this simple tutorial.

My Earth Day project is made of materials I had left over from other projects and events including my Winter Formal. I don't like to toss things out just in case I may need them for a project one day.  I love to recycle and this project is a perfect example of how I like to help "Save Planet Earth" by recycling and using things instead of tossing them into the trash.

I like how this wall art came together. There are recycled buttons, tulle that I had left from my place setting at Winter Formal, a Bible verse written on torn and inked paper, and a bird cut from scraps.  No shopping involved. The backing is an old paining. It is a thin canvas that I had.  I painted it all black (I love painting things). I added the background paper and then embellished.

To achieve these chunky looking letters, I used the Robotz Cricut cartridge.  I added a shadow and inked the edges.  I popped them up for the added dimension.

My favorite part is the Bible verse.  It was hard to photograph it so that you could see all of it.  I tore the edges of the paper and inked it so it would look distressed.  I added buttons to two corners.

Here's a closer look.

Before you hop off to the next blog, I want to thank all of our wonderful sponsors for today's blog hop. If you would like to visit their blogs I have included their links for you:
and our birthday girl Gaby:)

Remember, to be eligible for our blog hop prizes, you must leave a comment on every blog participating on this blog hop.  Your next stop is HappyNScrappin

Happy Easter:)

Welcome to Funky Cards and my Mom's First Card:)

I am currently on Spring break and enjoying time with family and friends, as well as doing some volunteer work with my youth group.  Today, I want to share with you an Easter card that I encouraged my mom to make:)  My mom and I love to craft together.  Well she loves to be in the room with me!  My mom followed a blog hop and found that she needed to use ribbon, glitter, the color yellow, and a circle to make her project.  Here it is!

The photo is a bit blurry for some reason, but the sentiment says,
"Some BUNNY Loves You!"

Cooking With Cricut - Easter

Welcome to Funky Cards &
Cooking With Cricut Challenge #26- Easter
As we count down to Easter Sunday many of us have our own way of celebrating this day. So Happy Easter to you however you spend your day!  I have created this cute bunny card with cuts that I have received from a recent cut swap.  I thought it was fun to put together a card with someone else's cuts.

The basket, bunny and eggs did not all come from the same person:)  Are they yours?  They could be if you participated in the swap hosted by Candace from Papercrafts By Candace.  The cuts were all Easter and spring related and the swap was really fun.  I hope Candace does this again really soon. HINT, HINT!!!

I will be celebrating with a wonderful church service to be held outdoors at our high school football stadium.  How cool is that?  We are having one big service this year rather rather than the three services we have each Sunday.

(1) But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. (2) And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, (3) but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. (5) And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, (7) that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” (8) And they remembered his words, (9) and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. (10) Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, (11) but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. (12) But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.  Luke 24:1-12
God Bless and Happy Easter   ~Madison
