Digi Dessert Fridaze- #17

Welcome To Funky Cards

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze! Every Friday we create a fabulous variety of projects highlighting the fabulous digi stamps you can find at Papercraftingworld.com.

I look forward to seeing you here on Fridays when I share my digi projects with you.  Whether you are new to digi stamps or an old pro, there is something for everyone.  Today I want to share a card that my mom Cindy made for today's challenge using another adorable digi from PapercraftingWorld.

This adorable digi stamp comes pre-colored and black and white. For this project I wanted to show you that you can get a different look by not only changing the colors of the digi stamp, but by changing the size.

"Woo's Wishing You a Happy Birthday?"

The idea was that there are two owls wishing that special someone a "Happy Birthday," a mama owl and her baby owl.  It is easy to get that effect by changing the size of the digi stamp before it is cut out.

It is just another fun way to make it look like you have more than one digi when in fact, you are still using the same one!! For added dimension and to really make the digi stamps pop, the edges and the cheeks were inked and real gems were added for the sprinkles on the cupcake.

Now take a moment to head over to My Paper Craft World to see what the other design team members have created for you today.

Have a wonderful day.  Thank you for stopping by!

Craft with Cutters Challenge #135
Pink

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World
are seeing PINK!
The inspiration for my project was easy!  This past Saturday was my Senior Prom and once again I was asked by my group to make the name cards for the table.  We were going for a vintagelook this year.
The lace was white. With a bit of fabric paint and water,
I was able to achieve a more vintage look.

The actual tag on the card was made using the Going Places Cricut cartridge.  The names were computer generated.  A bit of inking was done around the edges.  I love how they turned out.

They looked so pretty on the table.

There were 24 friends in our group and each person had their own name card.  I have loved making these keepsakes for my friends each year.

Please be sure to visit the My Paper Craft World blog to see all the other adorable cards and projects the design team members have created for you this week.

Digi Dessert Fridaze- #16

Welcome To Funky Cards

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze! Every Friday we create a fabulous variety of projects highlighting the fabulous digi stamps you can find at Papercraftingworld.com.

I look forward to seeing you here on Fridays when I share my digi projects with you.  Whether you are new to digi stamps or an old pro, there is something for everyone.  Today I want to share a card that my mom Cindy made today's challenge using another adorable digi from PapercraftingWorld.

This adorable digi stamp comes pre-colored and black and white. You will see that by changing the color of the uniform that the bear is wearing, you can personalize the uniform to match the recipient's favorite baseball team. Using Photoshop, you can add the team name to the front of the jersey.  This allows you to create many different images with just one digi stamp.  The combinations are limitless!

The inspiration for today's card is my nephew AJ who is celebrating his 11th birthday!!  AJ is a BIG San Francisco Giants fan so this card was personalized just for him.

As you can see, the uniform on AJ's card is black and orange and the word "Giants" has been added to replace the numbers "00."  You can accomplish the same results without Photoshop.  Simply print out the digi in black and white and use colored markers, colored pencils, or colored crayons to fill in your digi stamp.  Use what YOU have!  Coloring is fun.  Reminds me of being a kid.

Now take a moment to head over to My Paper Craft World to see what the other design team members have created for you today.

Have a wonderful day.  Thank you for stopping by!

Digi Desserts- #15

Welcome To Funky Cards

Welcome to Digi Desserts Fridaze! Every Friday we create a fabulous variety of projects highlighting the fabulous digi stamps you can find at Papercraftingworld.com.

I look forward to seeing you here on Fridays when I share my digi projects with you.  Whether you are new to digi stamps or an old pro, there is something for everyone.  Here is a card that my mom Cindy made that for our latest challenge using another adorable digi from PapercraftingWorld.

The inspiration behind this card comes from this Sunday's special day, Mother's Day.

"Happy Mother's Day"

The adorable digi stamp that was chosen for this card comes pre-colored and black and white.  As you can see, the cart has been removed to show you that by editing the stamp, you can use one holiday stamp for a different holiday.  These stamps are so versatile.  Isn't that cool?

This is a gate fold card with the digi added to one side.

A bit of inking was done around the edges of the digi and on the cheeks to give an extra bit of pop to the adorable little girl.

Now take a moment to head over to My Paper Craft World to see what the other design team members have created for you today.

Craft with Cutters Challenge #133
Card Outreach

This week the ladies at My Paper Crafting World are participating in the I Feel the Love Project card outreach! This is very special to me as it is the project that I started and run each month.  I would be honored if you would consider making a card for this week's challenge.  We are collecting cards in May to be handed out in June just in time for Father's Day.  They will be going to a very deserving dad, Reggie.  You can read all about this amazing man by clicking HERE.

This month my mom and I both made cards for this post.  First let me share my mom's card with you.

The message is clear, STAY STRONG! It is something that Ashley's dad Reggie has  been doing since Ashley had cancer the first time as a young child.  Using the Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge two butterflies were created to symbolize the joy and fun times she has shared with her father.

My card was designed with simple, clean lines and a personal message.  This seemed appropriate for a masculine card and I was pleased with the results.  Using the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge, several circles and shadows were cut to hold the sentiments.

The card was also embossed and stitched to give it more pop.

Please be sure to visit the My Paper Craft World blog to see all the other adorable cards and projects the design team members have created for you this week. You now have one month to enter this week's challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor, Papercraftingworld.com. Click HERE to enter.

"Standing up to cancer...with you"

The adorable digi stamp that was chosen for this card comes pre-colored and black and white. I decided to use the colored image but change the colors by editing it through Photoshop. The edges around her hair were inked with a darker brown and her cheeks were given a pop of red ink.

I Feel the Love Project- May 2013

Welcome to Funky Cards
Honoring a Special Father
Andrew, Ashley, Sandy, Raelynn, Reggie (Dad), and Ryan

The I Feel the Love Project will be collecting cards in May for Reggie Nelinger so that they can be given to him in June in time for Father's Day. We would like Mr. Nelinger to know just how much we love and support him as an amazing father to his four beautiful children. This project will be a complete surprise to him as it is being arranged by the IFTL Project and his family.

This is Reggie's story:

Fifteen years ago, Reggie Nelinger, an electrician, held the hand of his sweet 5 year-old daughter, Ashley, while his wife, Sandy and  her little brother, Andrew, heard the doctor state their daughter/sister had Wilms', a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children. Reggie was there being the best dad he could be all those long days and nights as his sweet daughter fought for her life. She beat the odds that were stacked against her despite losing one of her kidneys. For the next decade and a half Reggie got to see his daughter grow into a beautiful young lady. Reggie was able to teach Ashley to drive, take her camping, watch her graduate from high school and begin to plan her life out as a young adult. He was blessed and understood the blessing God gave him with Ashley and never took for granted the gift that was given to him as a father.

This past January, Ashley was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer completely unrelated to the cancer she had as child. It is called rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive cancer of the connective tissues, which in Ashley’s case is attached to her sinus passage. Not only is this cancer a bit of a medical baffle due to its rare state, but Ashley only has one kidney and that makes chemo and other forms of treatment more challenging to treat than normal. Reggie and his wife are now watching their child battle for her life once again.

All the painful memories of the first battle are brought back to memory, as well as the feelings of helplessness, sleepless nights, and the worry about finances. For Reggie there is the added burden to be a provider for his family in a time when all he wants to do is be there by his child's side. It is Reggie's big heart and positive outlook that helps his family lead the fight for Ashley's life all the while helping to maintain some level of normalcy for his other three other children and wife during this difficult situation. Reggie is a dad that needs to be recognized, a dad that has not only stared every parent's worst nightmare in the face once, but now twice.

****Please help us to honor Reggie by creating a card for him that says thinking of you, stay strong, great job dad... or whatever moves you.  Thank you so much.  It will mean more than you know to Reggie and his family.

If you are so inclined, you can
also create a card for Ashley as well.

A Deserving Family Needs You!!

Welcome to Funky Cards
My 18th Birthday
In the past several days there has been so much tragic news.  One week ago today was my 18th birthday and although I had a wonderful day I was still very much aware of how many of my fellow Americans were suffering from several horrible events.  My heart and prayers go out to all those who lives have been forever changed by the tragic events of the past week.  My hope is that many will rally around you and lift you up in prayer as well.

In light of the current bad news that is all around us today, now more than ever is the time to do something positive for someone.  Please consider spending just a few moments to create a card for this month's I Feel the Love Project family.

We aren't looking for crafters with blogs or only those who have been crafting for years.  We are looking for people with big  hearts and a compassion for others. It is the message that matters!  Please help spread the word about this project.  It really does feel good to do for others.  I think we can all use some positive feelings right now.
Thank you for stopping by.
