OMG! I am so happy!!!

Welcome to Funky Cards!

Can I just say...You are the
best crafters and followers ever!!!

This month the I Feel the Love Project is feeling the love!!!  I have been scanning and scanning and scanning photos to try to keep the photo gallery up to date for you and I think I may have finally finished with everything that came in while I was gone.  There are some things that I simply cannot scan due to size.  We have received several amazing banners, which I believe the crafters have already posted on their blogs.  One came in from Germany and was hand sewn.  Danke Mel.

I made several cards for this project and I also made some cupcake toppers.  I want to show you the cupcake toppers.  Keep in mine they will look cuter when the cupcakes are frosted.  In this photo the cupcakes haven't been frosted yet.  I didn't realize we didn't have frosting.  (Click on photo to enlarge).

I made a variety of cute little aliens.

Here is a close up the cupcake toppers!  I used free coloring pages I found online to make these.  Once I found the ones I wanted, I transfered them into Photoshop to color.  After the were colored, they were printed and cut using the Cameo.  It was really fun to do.

Thank you again to all of you who contributed to this month's IFTL Project.  I am so appreciative of your love and support.  As this month closes, another month gets ready to  launch.  I know you will be moved by the next story.  I have been very inspired by our next recipient.  I am sure you will love her!!!

Come back soon!

PBD UStream Challenge

Welcome to Funky Cards

Here is my Ustream Challenge!!  Junk Drawer Project!!

I was inspired by an empty pill container.  Sorry, I blurred it on purpose.

I turned this pill box into a flower holder, home decor project.  Hard to see in the photo, but there is a sentiment on front that says, "Just for You" and it comes from the Vintage Greetings stamp set by Pink By Design.

Thank you so much for this great day.

PBD Challenge #12

Welcome to Funky Cards

Today Pink By Design is celebrating its 2nd year with an extravaganza!!  Check out all the fun on the Facebook Event Page.  Every hour I will be posting a new project to help celebrate this wonderful day!  Here is project #12: Inspiration.

I was inspired by my notebook to create a home decore project.
This project started as a blank canvas.  With a few strands of yarn wrapped around the canvas and a few words cut out from my Cameo, the canvas was transformed into this wall hanging in no time.

That's all for now.

I was a bit confused on this challenge. I always start with a white card and add paper. So I played it safe and just used this patterned paper. I inked it with the the sentiment "Enjoy" from the "Vintage Greetings" stamp set by Pink By Design. I hope this was right.

That's all for now.  I have to start
the final challenge.  See you soon!

I used the animals from Winnie the Pooh to create this all occasion card.  Using the Silhouette, I was a able to find the free clip art, print and cut it out and use it on my card.  The sentiment is from the "Vintage Greetings" stamp set by Pink By Design.

I dug through my GIGANTIC stash of buttons and found this cool button to use on this fun birthday card.  I love unique buttons.  They add a lot on interest to cards.  Once again I used my Cameo to create this fun card.  I just love how easy it is use use the offset button to create the shadow for the words:)

This is the sketch that was given to follow. We were allowed to make a layout or a card.

I chose to make a card using pictures I had of me:) For the banner at the top I used the "Banner" stamp set from Pink By Design.

This was a fun challenge.  It is easier to see the colors in person.  The paper goes light to dark from bottom to top and the flowers go light to dark from left to right.  The birds are made of light and dark blue paper.  They blended in so much on the background paper that I used a little ink around the edges and added black eyelashes.

I love to emboss so this was a fun challenge for me!!  I used two of my favorite floral Cuttlebug embossing folders to create this sympathy card. Thank you for all the mail!

Welcome to Funky Cards

Good morning.  After a couple of weeks on the road first going to camp and then flying across country to welcome my brother home from his deployment, I am finally home.  I have to say when I returned I did Feel the Love.  My followers did not disappoint.  You have all been very busy.  My post office box was so full that I had to use a Post Office bin to bring the mail home!
Funky Cards received so much mail that I haven't even had the chance to scan in the cards that aren't in the photo gallery already.  This month I may just have a final total for you of all the cards and decorations that were sent in.  All of the projects may not get scanned into the gallery by the end of the month.  I will see what I can do.

I don't have a count yet just from this mail, but it was a lot! Thank you so much for all of your support.  All I can say is that the Sheffield House is going to Feel the Love!!

I am really excited to share the August recipient with you in a few days.  I can't believe that July is already coming to an end. This month has flown by.  I don't even want to mention going back to school.  So, let's just say have a great day!!!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #96 - Christmas in July

Welcome To Funky Cards
Cooking With Cricut-Challenge #96
Christmas in July

This week Cooking With Cricut is challenging our followers to create projects with a Christmas theme.  Think Christmas in July!  This sounds good to me right about now as the temperatures soar to over 107 degrees outside :(

There's SNOW place like home.

I wish it were snowing!  In this scene, I created this 3D perspective of a little snowman sledding down a hill by making bigger trees in the foreground and smaller trees in the background. The trees were cut from the Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge.  The house, purposely set three quarters of the way on the page, was cut from the Kate's ABC Cricut cartridge.

The mountains were created by tearing two strips of paper and inking the edges so that they could clearly be defined.  The adorable snowman is a cutting file which can be purchased at Papercraftingworld.com.  So what do you think?

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #95 - Buttons and Brads

Welcome To Funky Cards
Cooking With Cricut-Challenge #95
Buttons and Brads

This week Cooking With Cricut is challenging our followers to create projects using either buttons or brads.  Since my card is going to a child, I decided it would be safer to use brads that are securely attached, rather than buttons that might come off.

There are three brads on this "Hoppy Birthday" card.  One on the bunny's collar and two on the Hoppy Birthday sign.  This adorable bunny cut from the Kate's ABC's Cricut cartridge is holding up his sign to say "Hoppy Birthday" to someone special.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #94- Card Outreach

Welcome To Funky Cards
Cooking With Cricut-Challenge #94
Card Outreach

I Feel the Love Project July

I am humbled to have the Cooking With Cricut Design Team join me once again in making cards/decorations for the I Feel the Love Project. This month we are celebrating the children of women who are striving to become self-sufficient. These women are currently living at Sheffield Place with their children until they get back on their feet. They have all endured many struggles in life and are currently homeless. Sheffield Place opened its doors in February 1991 as a community response to the growing population of homeless mothers and their children in the Kansas City area.

Each month there is a birthday party for the kids at Sheffield Place put on by a volunteer.  During the month of July, the IFTL Project will be making birthday cards, banners, treat boxes, and other decorations for this shelter to keep on hand.  There are currently 25 kids staying at Sheffield Place.

This is a birthday card I made for one of the kids using the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge for the puppy.  I think it will put a smile on someone's face:)

Using an Online Coloring Page to Create a Card

Welcome to Funky Cards
I hope everyone is having a great summer.  For those of you experiencing difficulties with the weather and/or power outages, I pray that things get back to normal for you as soon as possible.

Today, I want to share with you a card I made by using a coloring page I found online.  I spotted this cute giraffe and downloaded it into Photoshop.  There it was colored and ready to send to my Cameo where it was printed and cut.

She looks so cute sitting on this adorable paper that I just received as a prize from a fellow blogger.  A birthday greeting was added, as were a few flowers and this card was ready to send!

If you try this, let me know how it works out for you.  I am linking this card to the I Feel the Love Project July 2012.

Have a wonderful day!
