Welcome To Funky Cards
This week Cooking With Cricut is celebrating the 4th of July. We are creating projects with the colors RED, WHITE and BLUE. Just the perfect color combination for me as I am all about creating a red, white, and blue outfit!
If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I love painting shoes. I have Toms in many colors now!! This was a white pair of shoes, which I actually love. Using the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge, stars were cut out of vinyl and attached to the shoe. Using vinyl allows you to adhere the stars to the shoe while painting the blue paint and the blue paint won't run under the star. For the stripped shoe, the shoe can be taped and painted red leaving the white stripe.
Starting with plain blue jean shorts, once again the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge was used to create a fun new look. This time a stencil of stars was cut from vinyl and attached to the shorts. White paint was used to create the stars. The stripes were made by taping off the shorts and alternating red and white paint.
I previously showed you the tank top that went with this outfit. Click HERE to see how I made this. It started as a plain blue tank. I will be wearing this at Hume Lake this year, our youth group camp. The theme is Humerica. We are all wearing lots of red, white, and blue!
Please be sure to visit the Cooking With Cricut blog to see what the other design team members have cooked up for you this week. You have until next Tuesday to enter this week's challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor, Papercraftingworld.com. Click HERE to enter.
I am entering my shoes and shorts (made with the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge) into the following challenges:
