Welcome to Funky Cards and
Good morning and welcome back to My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Sunday. I hope to inspire you with my work today and to encourage you to try something new! As you know, each week I will be sharing with you new cards that I have designed and adding a few tips that I have learned along the way.

If you are a fan of morning TV, you might know that Regis Philbin is retiring in November from the Live With Regis and Kelly show. I have been a fan of the show for a long time. I wrote to the show when I was just five years old and Kelly read my letter on the air and held up my picture:) I thought it would be nice to make a card for Regis as he retires.
If you watch this show, all of the pieces of this card will make sense. The outside has his name and nick names.
Regis married his wife Joy in 1970.
The Philbins had two kids, Joanna and J.J. Regis went to Notre Dame and loves to talk about the Fighting Irish.
Regis served in the US Navy!
Regis co-hosts this morning show with Kelly Ripa.
Regis and Kelly have their own awards called the Relly Awards. They started the awards as a joke because every year they lose the Daytime Emmy Award.
Well, congratulations to Regis and Kelly this year's winners of the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Host!!
I think at last count there were over 10 Cricut cartridges used to design and create this card. It was well worth it. I love how it turned out and so did Regis. At least that is what he said! He sent me a response with a signed autograph picture.
It says, "Hey Madison Thanks for the great good bye card.
My Best
Regis Philbin"

***Today's tip-Don't commit to early.
As you can see, this is a really big and somewhat complicated card. It took a lot of planning to get it just right. It would have been tempting to start gluing things down early on. Had I done that I would have been very mad at myself! I needed to follow my own advice and wait! I find that if I wait until I have everything I need for the project and I know where everything is going to go, then start gluing or taping, things work out much better.
More often than not, as I design a project I change my mind about what I am doing and If I have already glued or taped something down, I wouldn't be able to make the changes I want without making a big mess. This is just how I like to do it:) Of course on this project I had little pieces everywhere, but most projects aren't this big.
