Welcome to Funky Cards

Making money with crafting ~ Affiliate Programs

Affiliate Advertising - When you visit a website or blog, have you ever noticed the banner ads on the side or at the bottom of the page.  Most likely, these are due to Affiliate Advertising Programs. There are websites, such as Share A Sale, which allows you to search for businesses that have affiliate programs and sign up for them.  Once you are approved, you can choose from approved banners and advertisements to place on your website, blog or newsletter and when someone makes a purchase through the link connected with your affiliate account you receive a small commission.

The great thing is that MANY companies offer affiliate programs which allow you to make a commission off of sales you generate.  Why would they pay YOU to promote and sell their products?  Because advertising costs a LOT of money.  If a company were to purchase ad spaces on hundreds of blogs and websites, it would hit their budget hard.  But if they offer a percentage of the sales to people then EVERY wants to put their button and ads up on their site . . . and then all of a sudden they have ads EVERYWHERE.

I have tried some affiliate programs, and some are better than others.  Personally I feel like you need to find ones that offer a good commission and have a product that you actually use or enjoy.  It makes it easier to promote if it is something that you feel good about.

Get Scrabooking, Cricut, Craft Project Ideas and More at Above Rubies Studio!
One that I am really excited about right now was just launched THIS MONTH!  That is right . . . you could still be among the first to be a part of this great new program.  It is for Above Rubies Studio.

Megan at Above Rubies Studio has a great line of DVD's that many people have used to learn how to use their Cricut Machines.  More recently she came out with a new line of paper, called Paper Layerz.  If you have not checked out the store at Above Rubies Studio you should head over and see all of her products.

So . . . what would you say if I told you that YOU could make a 15% commission on sales that you generate for Above Rubies Studio?  Would you want to do it?

This is a great way to make a little extra money from your website or blog, and it is so easy to do! All you need is a PayPal account and then you go to  http://www.aboverubiesstudio.com/ap/144.html to sign up. Once you have the account created you can pick from some different banners and ads that they pre-made for you.  Just copy and paste the code into an email or on to your blog and you can start to generate commissions off of products like the Cricut A-Z DVD or Paper Layerz. You will earn 15% commission on each sale you refer.

You also get an additional 5% on sales from anyone else that joins off of YOUR referral link, so once you join up make sure to send an email to all of YOUR crafty friends!

Free to sign up Just need a PayPal account . . . that is where your commissions are deposited. The sign up page does ask for your Social Security Number, and I know that some people were worried about that.  They need this because they are paying you money, just like an employer would.  The sign up page is a secure site, so that means you do not have to worry about anyone getting your information. How do I know this?  Well, the person who referred this site to me operates a scam and fraud prevention site, and has some experience teaching people about only using secure sites.

When you look at the URL for any website, if you see an after the http then you know it is a secure site.

Here is a screen shot I took of the Above Rubies Studio Affiliate Sign Up Page.  The padlock icon and the s, which I underlined in red to make it stand out, are what tells you that this is a secure site.  If you want, you can do a Google search on how to find out if a website is secure.

Okay . . . so now you know that it is free, safe.  I plan on doing posts on a regular basis about this program so that I can show all of you first hand how easy it is . . . but you have to take the first step and sign up.  When up sign up you and want to use me as a referral, I am signed in under my mom's name, Cindy Womack.  I used her name since I am a minor.

Thanks for listening.  Have a crafty weekend.  Be sure to come back and check out the My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop tomorrow!!!
