So---How DID I Do That and Winner Announced!!

Last week I challenged you to a game of how did she do that?  I asked you to try and guess what two Cricut cartridges I used to make the Michael's bag in this "Having fun with Mom" canvas.

The purpose of this game wasn't to just give a way a treat, but to get you to see that there are many interesting and creative ways to use our Cricut cuts in ways that they are not intended.  I wanted to make what looked like a Michael's shopping bag.  Well a quick search of MyCutSearch.com  told me that that wasn't going to happen with the cartridges I owned without being creative.

I knew that I needed two pieces, a base and a handle.  The base is actually from a purse on the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge.  It is not used as intended.  It was meant to be the side of a 3-D purse (Page 41, shift Purse).

I knew immediately what I wanted to use for the shape of the handle.  Look at it one more time before peeking and see if you can guess what I used!!!!  Did you guess right?

Well you did if you now know that the handle was cut from the Kate's ABC's Cricut cartridge (Page 42, Layer 1, first cut only).  

I love to look at my cartridges and imagine how I can use them for many different things.  The shoes straps just looked like perfect bag handles to me!!
