Goodwill Blog Hop

Welcome to Funky Cards and our
Good Will Blog Hop

If you just came from Maria Elena's blog you are in the right place.  If you found your way here by chance you can head back to Dalis' blog and start at the beginning of this hop by clicking on the icon above.  Today we are celebrating the power of work using items from Goodwill store finds.

"Goodwill® inspires hope and self-confidence, helping people from all backgrounds and walks of life to feel successful, valuable and dignified. We help people earn a living, improve their lives, and strengthen their families and their communities. Our network of 165 independent, community-based Goodwills in the United States and Canada offers customized job training, employment placement and other services to people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face employment challenges. In 2010Goodwill helped nearly 2.4 million people train for careers in industries such as banking, IT and health care, to name a few — and get the supporting services they needed to be successful, such as English language training, additional education, or access to transportation and child care." I love shopping at Goodwill and finding things that I can alter and make work for me.  Today I am going to show you how I used two items I purchased at Goodwill and made them into one wearable item:)  I love wearing one of a kind pieces to school!!

I started with this black tank top and blue long sleeve blouse.  I used my sewing machine (no Cricut today, sorry) for this project.  I cut a piece from the bottom  of the black top.  I removed the collar and sleeves from the blouse and sewed the front of the blouse together.  I  attached it to the black top and made it into a dress.  I added some elastic to fit.

I can use my own accessories and I think it looks great!

What do you think?  Want to hear the best part?  The total price for my new dress is $7.00:) How great is that????
