My Pink Stamper Design Team Call

Welcome To Funky Cards and

My Pink Stamper
Robyn of My Pink Stamper is holding a Design Team call. The last time I entered the DT call I was named an honorable mention.  We'll see what happens this time.  Of course I would be super excited to be selected. My Pink Stamper is the first website I found when I started crafting.  I watched over 100 of Robyn's videos for several days straight.  I was hooked:)  I learned so much from Robyn in the year and a half since I started my blog.  I believe I have really grown as a designer.  It would be amazing to now be a part of her design team!  I have so much more to learn:)

The challenge is to design and create a project using your favorite Cricut cartridge with the following colors:

Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice)

After carefully considering this color palette, I decided that my optional color would be white.  For the orange and green, I would use a burnt orange and an olive green to give the card a warm feeling.
I designed an easel card that would fit into a standard business size envelope-#10.
My card dimensions are 3 1/2" x 9 1/4."
Using Kate's ABC's, one of my current favorite Cricut cartridges, I cut out this adorable little girl.  I added a pearl to her hat and embossed her dress for added interest.
The sentiment, "Feast upon the words of Christ," can be found on My Pink Stamper's "More Faithful Sayings" stamp set.  The sentiment color is a burnt orange.  Three gems were added below the sentiment also using burnt orange to tie all the colors together.
Because this is an easel card, the word H-O-P-E was added using little wooden blocks to hold the back of the card in an upright position.  The blocks were painted white and set on the contrasting brown paper.  The brown paper was embossed prior to adding the letters.  If you would like to learn how to make an easel card click HERE

Additional details on this card include the scalloped border  on the journaling paper and the tulle ribbon which was tied around the card using Robyn's "cheater method."

The inspiration for this card is 3 year old Marley Moore.  Marley and her family are the recipients of the July cards for my "I Feel the Love Project." This card will be going to Marely's parents.  If you would like to learn more about my project click HERE.  I would be happy to have you be a part of this project.
Each Monday Alex (one of the current designers for MPS), at You Had Me at Craft, will be having a "Linking Party." All you need to do is link something to her blog that you made yourself.
"Post ANYTHING CREATIVE that you made yourself.  Do you sew? garden? paint? create home decor? make jewelry, use vinyl? color? quilt? papercraft? knit? crochet? bake? cook? WHATEVER !"  ***I will be posting this card on Alex' blog:)
Thank you for stopping by!
