Welcome to Funky Cards and the DIA DE REYES Blog Hop!
If you arrived here from Dalis' blog you are in the right place. If you happened here by chance, you may want to head back to the beginning to Gaby's blog to see all the wonderful projects on today's blog hop.
"After New Year's Day, Mexican families still have a very special date to commemorate and enjoy. On January 6, most of the Hispanic world celebrates El Dia De Reyes, the Epiphany, remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived bearing their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrhfor the Baby Jesus." (Article link)
I was honored that Gaby of Gaby Creates asked me to join her in this blog hop to help her celebrate this special day. I was asked to make a card or project showcasing the Three Wise Men.
In this card, I have included a computer generated Bible verse, which says, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him." Matthew 2:2
Since I did not have a digi stamp of the Three Wise Men, I found a free coloring page online
that included a small picture of the Three Wise Men and copied it onto a Word document. After
I shrunk it down to the correct size, I copied it onto white card stock so that I could color
it. I added a shadow and stitching for added interest. Using the star from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and a few gems to light up the sky, I was able to finish the card:)

Today I am offering a package of thank you notes for visiting my site during this blog hop. This package includes 5 thank you notes and envelopes:) To be eligible for this package, please become a follower of my blog (if you aren't already following) and leave me a comment letting me know if you were able to share special time with your family over the holiday season :)
Gaby is also giving way 6 prizes, one of them a grand prize!!
To qualify for the grand prize, you must leave a comment on every blog. In addition, you will be collecting words at several, but NOT ALL of the blogs. That is a wonderful card. I love that you are so imaginitive when you don't have the "right" supplies. We are very alike. This past holiday season was awesome for me, as I was able to spend 10 whole days with my family. I started a new job 6 months ago, and one of the perks is a break during Christmas, with pay. How sweet is that? I am following your blog, even though I have been here before. Love your cards.

Love the techniques you used on your card.
ReplyDeleteNice card. We had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve we always go to my sister's after our Christmas Eve Service. We always have a Mexican buffet - being as we are from Oklahoma, it is a Tex-Mex buffet. We go to my parent's on Christmas Day. My mother fixes the traditional Christmas Dinner - with homemade chicken 'n noodles (my 16 yo niece's and my favorite). My inlaws (and parents) come do Christmas at our house the following week. Tradition at my house is a homemade lasagna and cheesecake. :)
