Jess' 34th Birthday Celebration Blog Hop
The hostess of this blog hop is the birthday girl, Jess of KinderStampO. Happy Birthday Jess! If you arrived here from our birthday girl Jess' blog, you are in the right place. If you happened here by chance, you may want to head back to the beginning so you don't miss any of the great projects. Click HERE.
I love making birthday cards and as you know I am all about making cards with things I don't have! If you have been following my blog you will know that I have been trying to challenge myself to create projects by trying to be resourceful. In this case, I wanted to try to make a card using a punch, even though I didn't have one. Now how was I going to do that? Hmmmm? Lots of thinking outside the box for this one!!! Well first here is the card I made:
Doesn't this card have the appearance of a punch at the bottom under the ribbon? Any ideas as to how I did this. Well before I tell you, think I about it...... Ok, do you give up? Well, I am sure you guessed I made it myself and I did. I used my Gypsy and the From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge to create this border and cut it out all at once on the blue card stock:)
Here is what it looked like on the Gypsy. Of course once you add the adorable robot cut at 3" from the Robotz Cricut cartridge and the Happy Birthday sentiment, you have an adorable birthday card for a little boy. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think:)
I hope you were able to stop by and check out all the fantastic blogs today. I am the last stop on this wonderful hop. Be sure to wish our hostess a very happy birthday.
Thank you for stopping by!

Cooking With Cricut- Three Flowers
Project with Three Flowers
This week at Cooking With Cricut, we are challenging you to create a project that includes three flowers. The flowers do not have to be made using your Cricut, but we ask as always that somewhere on your project there is an object cut with a Cricut machine.
For my project this week, I wanted to show you that you can be resourceful and create something even when you think you don't have all the right items:) I really wanted to make a vase with three flowers. I didn't think I had any cartridges with a vase. So I started by using Cricut Search and searched the word "vase." I discovered that there was a vase on the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge. I would have never guessed! Well, it was probably used as more of a storage container than a flower vase by the Indians but cut at 2.5" and from Anna Griffin paper it looks elegant and will do the trick:)
My flowers are embellishments I won from a blog hop. I used a creamy, brown ink and distressed them. They were a stark white color to start. I didn't have any ribbon to match and I did not want to introduce another color to my project as this would look too busy so I used the same ink to color the white ribbon. What you don't have, you can make!! The flower stems were made from green left over yarn that I used to make a scarf:) I embossed the background with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. I love how this card turned out:) What do you think?
Please take the time to stop by the other Design Team members' blogs to see what they have created. There are many wonderful projects to inspire you! Click HERE. And don't forget to enter this week's challenge for the chance to win some great prizes. You have until next Tuesday evening.

Baby Card for Contest
Look at this cute baby card my mom made for the Provo Craft handmade card contest!
My mom doesn't typically make cards, but for this contest the cards had to be made by someone over the age of 18. Well, since I don't qualify, I talked my mom into entering. The project had to be a card and had to be made using one of three specific Cricut cartridges. Lucky for me I had one of the three cartridges, Wall Decor and More. It also had to include Anna Griffin products, either paper, stamps, etc. My mom used Anna Griffin paper that I bought at Michael's. I thought she did a great job:)
Provo Craft will be announcing the winner on January 20th. They will also be announcing a new product on HSH the same day, as will Anna Griffin. Good luck to all of you who entered the contest!

Here is the card I made for this blog hop challenge:
I used the My Pink Stamper Stamp, "Whoooooo loves you?"
and Winnie the Pooh as the inspirations for my card.
I know I love Pooh and I received this awesome Winnie The Pooh Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder in today's mail from Ms. Dolores:) She bought one of my cards and included the die cut and embossing folder, as well as another embossing folder in my package. How great is that? Thank you so much Ms. Dolores! You ROCK!! I couldn't wait to use Pooh:) What do you think?

Welcome Guest Designer: Ashley:)
Please help me welcome Ashley Nicole Valdez to Funky Cards.
Ashley is the guest designer on my blog today.
My name is Ashley Nicole Valdez. I am 10 years old and going to be 11 in February. I am in the 5th grade. I always watch my mom while she works on her crafts at the table. I love to watch her use the Cricut. In the summer I asked my mom if I could make some things with her and she showed me how to use her Cricut and how to use stamps!! This year for Christmas all I wanted was my own craft stuff and I got a lot of it, but I still like to use my mom's Cricut!
My favorite cartridge is the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge and my favorite stamp set of hers is the "Rock On" set by Pink by Design. She said she is going to get me a set of my own cause I always take hers :) I have a blog now and I hope you stop by: Ashley's Creative Journey.
Here is the card I designed for Funky Cards today as the guest designer:
The penguins were cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge, the hearts were cut from the George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge, and the sentiment is from the dollar section at Michael's.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Please take a moment to leave a comment for Ashley. I will make sure she gets all of your thoughtful messages:) You ROCK Ashley!!
Have a great day!

Cooking With Cricut- Glittermania
Welcome to Challenge #12 at Cooking with Cricut
This week the theme is Glittermania! Somewhere on your card or LO you are required to use glitter! For my project I decided to create a thank you card since I just sold the last of my new thanks you cards:)
This cute little seahorse was given to me in a critter swap and I designed the card around this cut out since it came with glitter!! I added the plants from the Create a Critter cartridge. For fun, I made the wave out of the light blue paper from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge and turned it upside down to make the illusion of the dark blue paper looking like waves and the light blue paper looking like sky:)
Be sure to enter this week's challenge.
You could win the new release of digital stamps or cutting files below...Cold Hands Warm Heart.

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge:)
I am so excited that Emma from My Creative Time has started her Throwback Thursday challenges:) This week the theme was "Viewer Choice" and the only requirement was the card or LO had to have a heart somewhere on the project.
I decided to design a Valentine's Day card without using the color red as the main color. I found this cute stamp at Michael's that says, "Owl always love you." I cut out a 2 3/4 " heart using the Simply Sweet Cricut cartridge to stamp the sentiment on. I added the cute owl cut at 1 1/2" from the Create a Critter cartridge.
Thanks Emma for the challenge and thanks everyone for stopping by!

design for a couple celebrating their golden anniversary today. I was honored to create
this card and I hope they enjoy it:)
This is a tri fold card. I love being able to have several special little
places to add the perfect design touches:)
On this card I was able to add pictures of the happy couple from both then and now.
I also added love doves and hearts from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge, as well as the
words "Love" and "The Perfect Pair." Although hard to read in this photo, next to the
couple's pictures is the date of their wedding and the date of their 50th anniversary.

As you can see, there is also a place at the end of the card to write a note to the couple.
I just love the way this card turned out. I really enjoy making special order cards.

DIA DE REYES
Welcome to Funky Cards and the DIA DE REYES Blog Hop!
If you arrived here from Dalis' blog you are in the right place. If you happened here by chance, you may want to head back to the beginning to Gaby's blog to see all the wonderful projects on today's blog hop.
"After New Year's Day, Mexican families still have a very special date to commemorate and enjoy. On January 6, most of the Hispanic world celebrates El Dia De Reyes, the Epiphany, remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived bearing their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrhfor the Baby Jesus." (Article link)
I was honored that Gaby of Gaby Creates asked me to join her in this blog hop to help her celebrate this special day. I was asked to make a card or project showcasing the Three Wise Men.
In this card, I have included a computer generated Bible verse, which says, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him." Matthew 2:2
Since I did not have a digi stamp of the Three Wise Men, I found a free coloring page online
that included a small picture of the Three Wise Men and copied it onto a Word document. After
I shrunk it down to the correct size, I copied it onto white card stock so that I could color
it. I added a shadow and stitching for added interest. Using the star from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and a few gems to light up the sky, I was able to finish the card:)
