Day 2: Jillian's 12th Birthday Celebration

Welcome to Funky Cards

Today is Day 2 of Jillian's birthday celebration. She will be turning 12 and I will be posting birthday themed projects in her honor from June 10th - June 13th to help her celebrate.  Click HERE to see what I created yesterday.  You can see more birthday projects and really get inspired by heading to Deanne's Creative Juice.  Deanne is hosting this event and all of the participants' projects can be found on her blog.

Here is a list of the participants:

Today I made a project that could be given as a birthday gift.  It could be made as a "word" of encouragement or it could be made into a "name," like the name of the person you are giving it to.

Start with four layers of foam for each letter cut at 4" using the Robotz Cricut Cricut cartridge (or your Cricut cartridge of choice).  Adhere them together (I used my ATG gun).

Wrap the letters with a 1/4" pice of foam.

Cover each letter with paper.  You can now see that my project is going to be a "word" of encouragement rather than a name.

Time to embellish each letter.  You can add flowers, buttons, gems, other letters or whatever you would like.

Here is the finished project.  I mounted it on a piece of cardboard that I wrapped in paper.
How cute would this be if it said Jillian?

How would you like to have the chance to shop for $10 worth of digi stamps or cutting files from Papercraftingworld.com? I am giving away a $10 gift voucher to one lucky winner!!  In order to be eligible, you must leave me a comment each of the four days of this birthday celebration.  Each day tell me one thing you like about my project and whether or not you have made one before.  You can still scroll back and comment on all the posts.

Every participant is linking their project back to the hostess' blog.  Bloggers will vote on their favorite projects.  CLICK HERE to vote for the project you believe deserves to win a new Cricut cartridge:) You can VOTE FOR ME if you believe I deserve to win:)

Jillian has a hop going on over at her blog at A Jillian Vance Design! Check it out!!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see what I have cooked up for Day 3 of Jillian's Birthday Celebration!

  12. Another awesome project! How imaginative to layer the foam in such a way... I never would have thought to do that. I have made word and name books but never anything like this. You're right that it would make a really cool looking name plate.
