Welcome to Funky Cards...
and our Cricut Cartridge Showcase. Today I would like to share with you three projects I made using the Wall Decor and More Cricut cartridge.
With this cartridge, I was able to make birthday, Valentine's Day, and thinking of you cards. What I really like about this cartridge is that it contains a variety of phrases and borders in addition to the main images that you would typically use the cartridge for.
The first project is a birthday card. Many of you may have seen cards, t-shirts, and images on the internet with the phrase, "Keep calm and carry on." The original phrase was designed using a bright background, white letters, and a crown and has since been changed to say, "Keep calm and _______" (you can fill in the blank with whatever word you choose).
The crown on this birthday card was cut from the image on page 34, while the word calm was cut from the monogram on page 77. I chose to use a simple font from another cartridge to follow the original "Keep Calm" design.
To create this Valentine's Day card, the heart from page 64 was cut out of the patterned paper leaving the negative. A smaller deep read heart was then cut and placed in the center. The word love was cut from the border on page 77. This is one of the borders that I had never used before but looks great and actually cut very nicely.
This final project came together as a card that could be sent to let someone know that you are thinking of them. It is a card of encouragement. The card was made using the phrase and border features that can be found on page 50. I chose to use a solid background and patterned paper for the bird to brighten up the card. The embossing and flowers were added to give the card added interest.
I hope you have been inspired to check out your cartridges in a new way. Look beyond the obvious and see what you can design. There are endless possibilities.
Thank you for stopping by.
