Welcome to Funky Cards
Disney Pixar Blog Hop
If you arrived from Tami's blog you are in the right place. If not, you may want to hop right back to Shawn's blog so that you do not miss any of the fabulous projects. The Lion King is one of my all time favorite Disney movies. We got a new puppy in December and we named him Simba:) For my Disney project I made a Lion King stationary box that you could use as a gift box for someone celebrating a birthday with a Lion King theme. You could put a variety of fun candy inside and a gift card:) I am sure the birthday boy or girl would be excited. I would be!
The cutting file for this box can be found at Silhouette America as the box was made using the Cameo. The image was found online by searching free Disney Lion King Clip Art. "The Lion King" letters were cut using the Cameo. An old shoestring serves as the handle.
Of course one of the sides had to say Simba! The letters were cut using the Disney Pooh Font Set Cricut cartridge.
Timon and Pumba always make me laugh! Their names and images were cut using the Cameo. They were popped up to add a bit of dimension.
Rafiki! I love saying his name. This was also cut using the Disney Pooh Font Set Cricut cartridge.
This Lion King box has a surprise inside! It is a Mickey and Friends counting book! All the clip art that you will see in this book was free clip art and did not violate any copy write laws. It is always important to read all copy write notices before downloading any images.
The book was assembled with a Bind It all. All the words and offsets were created using the Cameo.
Just a little bit of doodling with a white gel pen was added to each page. Some was done on the page itself and some was added to the numbers and letters.
This was a really fun project. It always makes me smile to work with Disney characters. It also makes me smile to give away blog candy. So here is the deal. You give me a theme, and I will make a box for you like the Lion King box! All you have to do to be eligible for this prize is be a follower of my blog, leave me a comment on this post with the theme of the box that you would want me to make for you.
It can be anything (as long as it is appropriate...I am only 17!) I will be announcing the winner on Wednesday May 23 at the end of my post. You will have one week to claim your prize by contacting me at Funkycards @ charter dot net (no spaces).
Time to see what Cathie as dreamed up for you today. She is so fabulous that you shouldn't delay. Get hopping!
Here is a list of the participants who will be inspiring you today. Please feel free to hop backwards or forwards!!

These are such great ideas! We just decided last night that my daughters' (joint) birthday party is going to be "Now We Are Six", the poem by AA Milne who of course made Winnie the Pooh. So everything will be Winnie the Pooh! My oldest daughter who will be sharing the party will be 9 so we are going to make all of the 6's used on the banners etc. flippable!
ReplyDeleteYour counting book is also adorable! would have taken a while to cut out all of those little images and piece them! P&C makes that so much easier!
This Lion King box is super adorable, Madison. If I am lucky enough to win one, can you guess my desired theme? Monkeys, of course! OR Elmo... My granddaughter is partial to the Red Guy.

Madison you have such a creative mind for crafting. I love, love, love your box and the counting book. I can tell this took a lot of time piecing all the characters and numbers together. Great doodling too. ;)

ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! That is adorable! If I win I would love a surprise theme box! Everything you make is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Madison both projects are super cool. I see that you have figured out how to use your Cameo like a pro! I just don't seam to find the time to use mine so it just sits there collecting dust. Shame on me but after seeing your Dainey box I think I had just better find some time to sit down and use it.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is that box! i love it. I'm going to have to get me a cameo.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win one of your boxes. I have so many favorite characters but I think I'd choose Flynn Ryder with Rapunzel for my 17 year old daughter. She adores that movie.
thanks

Such talent!! Your Lion King box is adorable but I am really impressed with your counting book! And I think the dwarfs were the perfect choice for the number 7..:) I didn't see the dimensions on the book, could you share please? I have a two year old gson who would love one of them although truth be told I am probably not going to do one. Not a lot of confidence here but you did a wonderful job!! I am really impressed with your skills.. If I were lucky enough to win a box as blog candy ..Grover from Sesame Street would be my first choice..:)

Hey Madison! I'm a new follower and blown away with your creative project! I couldn't agree more about working with Disney theme projects and brings smile to face. I also take it one step further and play my Disney playlist on itunes while I craft; especially with that theme. :) Wonderful blog candy idea! I have several suggestions for a theme but I'm going to stay with the Disney theme and pick "Alice and Wonderland" theme. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous job done! :)
