Love My New Stamps!

Welcome to Funky Cards

Today I want to show you a sympathy card I made using the "Sympathy" stamp set from Pink By Design.
Sarah's stamps are beautiful and easy to use.  I get a lot of requests for sympathy cards and this set is perfect.  I can design and create a variety of cards.  I liked how this one turned out.  It is not always easy making sympathy cards. Thank you Sarah for the stamps:)

If you want to check out any of Sarah's stamps, visit her online store, Pink By Design, by clicking HERE.

Disney Pixar Blog Hop

Welcome to Funky Cards and our Disney Pixar Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Sarah's blog, you are in the right place, if you happened here by chance, please head back to the beginning by clicking on the DISNEY button above so you don't miss any of the adorable Disney projects today:)

I was so excited when I was asked to be a part of this blog hop.  Who doesn't love Disney?  I wanted to create a project that could be displayed as a decorative piece:)

I started with this black and very boring picture frame.  Ok, if you have followed me for awhile you know what is next!  Of course, I painted it RED!

Next I added the embellishments.  Winnie The Pooh, his honey pot, and Tigger all cut from the Pooh Font Set Cricut cartridge; grass to decorate the bottom of the frame cut from the Zooballoo Cricut cartridge; "M," "R," "W," cut from the Robotz Cricut cartridge; and the swirl cut from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.   Last you can add a favorite picture to your frame.  This is a picture of me when I was just a baby:)  What do you think?

**BLOG CANDY**

Creating My Own Paper:)

Welcome to Funky Cards!

Last night my dad came home and asked me to make a card package with 7 cards for a co-worker who is retiring.  I wanted to try something new so I decided to make  my own paper:)

Here is what I did.  I started with a blank piece of white card stock.

First, to take away the stark white color, I used the lightest green Studio G Ink to distress the entire background of the paper.  Next, using Martha Stewart flower stamps I recently won in a blog hop, I stamped the entire background with three different shades of blue and four different shades of green  Studio G Ink.

Here you can see the paper on the card I made.  This is the package I made last night to give to my dad:)  He asked for all blank cards.  This was really a fun project and I love how it turned out.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment and let me know:)

Cooking With Cricut - Spring Forward

Welcome to Funky Cards & Cooking With Cricut Challenge #20!
Spring Forward-It's all about time:)

This week at Cooking With Cricut we are challenging you to create a project with a clock or any time piece as we get ready to turn out clocks forward this weekend!

Wake up!  It's time to party:)  I wanted to make an alarm clock but I did not have one on any of my Cricut cartridges.  So, I knew once again I would have to get creative.  I used my From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge and welded together different shapes to make this clock.  I created a party invitation that could be used for a fun get together.  With a couple of solid colored pieces card stock, a bit of embossing and a balloon stamp, this invitation is ready to go:)

Be sure to check out what the other Design Team members have cooked up for you this week at Cooking With Cricut.  You can stop by our blog by clicking HERE.  You can enter our challenge to win some great prizes and once again you have until Tuesday evening to link your projects to our site.  Good Luck and happy crafting.

Present for my teacher:)

Welcome to Funkycards!

Today I have designed a pillow as a gift for one of my high school teachers who is having a baby very soon:)  I am so happy for her, but sad to lose her as a teacher.  Once I knew the colors of the baby's room, I knew what I wanted to do.

The baby's room is done in pinks and reds.  I happen to know that my teacher really likes zebra prints so I added the zebra squares for a bit of interest:)

I made a matching card using the material from the pillow:)

Here are the pillow and card together.  I gave these to her last week and she loved them:)  I was really happy about that!

Homemade gifts are special and easy to do if you just spend a little time thinking about your resources and supplies.  Try making a gift and let me know how it goes:)

Jennifer's Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Welcome to Funky Cards and Jennifer's Birthday Bash Blog Hop:)

If you arrived here from Tracy's blog you are in the right place.  If you happened here by chance today, you may want to head back to the beginning to Jenn's blog so you don't miss any of the wonderful birthday projects that were created just for you!

By now you can see that this blog hop is all about TURTLES.  We were asked to consider using a turtle on our project.  I wanted to do something a little different.  My turtle is actually made of wood.  I bought the turtle, which can be removed and kept for fun:)  Since I designed a belated birthday card I thought it would be fun to give the recipient a little something while saying I'm sorry about being late with my birthday wishes.

The generated sentiment says, "Sorry I was so slow getting this in the mail.
Happy Belated Birthday."
