Creepy Halloween Card

My Pink Stamper Challenge - "Spooky" Card:)

Yikes!! This scary monster thinks that "Frank" is creepy!  Maybe he should look in the mirror!  This card was fun to make because the monster came from a cut swap.  Does anyone recognize the cut as theirs?  I would love to give you credit!  I think it is adorable.  It came from the swap hosted by Candace from Paper Crafts by Candace:)

I made 15 of the same cut and in return I got 15 different cuts to use on my projects:)  They were all so adorable:)  Thank you again Candace for hosting this swap!

Halloween in coming.  How are your cards coming?

Funky Card FB FRIDAY Challenge

Fall Challenge

Each week on my Face Book Fan Page I have a FRIDAY Challenge.  I ask for ideas, themes, colors, etc... and based on what I am given, I design a card and post it on FRIDAY:)  This week I was asked to create a card using fall colors or having a fall theme.  Well, I used browns and greens (and some pinks- couldn't help myself) to design this friend card.

Friend cards are always very popular.  This owl is letting her friend know that, "Owl always be your friend!"

How Tweet Of You:)

5 Million Celebration Post #6- Card with an Envelope

My Pink Stamper's BFF Karlee challenged her followers to design a project with an envelope.

For the times when you just want to send a "little thank you" here is a mini thank you card.  The card itself is a blank but the envelope says "How tweet of you!" on the outside. I designed this card and envelope using the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge.  For added interest, the card is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  The border is punched with the Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot Punch.

My Creative Time Goes "Old School"

No Cutting Machines!!! What! Emma are you serious!  No Cricut! No Gypsy!

What will I do???

Here is my take on your challenge:

I designed a thank you card using flowers, a brad, card stock, a stamp, and gel pens.  No cutting machines here:)  This was really hard.  I am so used to all my critters!  I really liked this challenge though because I like having to work at a project.  Emma, you ROCK!!!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone:)

Thank You BEAR-Y Much:)

Be Inspired: Cuttlebug Challenge

Bow and Buttons

This week the challenge was to make a project with an image, a bow and at least two buttons.  I designed this BEAR-Y cute thank you card meeting the requirements as follows:

Image- Ms. Bear- cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge; bow- tied the bow, made of yarn, to the buttons; buttons- stacked two buttons and placed them where the ribbons meet at the bottom corner.

Here is a close up of the bow and buttons.

The sentiment is computer generated and says, Thank You "BEAR"-Y Much.  The background of the card is embossed, of course, using the Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.

Thank You To Ms. Terrie from Craftee Cards:)

Ms. Terrie chose to give me this awesome award. I am really honored that she appreciates all of my hard work and loves my blog:)

Here are the rules:
Once you picked up your award, please post it on your blog and answer these two questions:

1. The best project I ever made was...
I have made so many projects over the past year. This would be very hard to answer. I just want to say that I think I get more and more creative the more cards I make because I learn so much from being on the internet and working with so many talented crafters!!!
2. I like to craft because...
It is really fun!!! I like to see the projects I can come up with.

"Then select 3 people to award the blog award to. Post their names and blog addresses and go leave a comment on their blog. The award winner will pick up their star, who will then do the same thing"

Heartstring Designs Team Project # 6

Create a Project Using a Sketch
Heartstring Designs Team Project #6

Sketch by: Julie Detlef

For this project, I created a card based on the sketch seen below.

I used a stamp by our wonderful sponsor, My Heart Stamps For You. This cute bear misses her friend and wants to send out a thinking of you message:)

The coloring on the bear doesn't show up very well in the photo for some reason. More colorful in person. The card is embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I added pattern ribbon for added interest. The bottom border was punched with the Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot Border Punch.

Thank you to Shelley at Heartstring Designs for the wonderful opportunity to be a member of her Design Team for the past three months.

Shoes, shoes, and more shoes!

Paper Play Time Blog Shoe Challenge #16

The challenge this week was to make a project with a "Shoe" theme.

I chose to use the Forever Young Cricut cartridge character and make it into a stamp. I used foam to make the stamp cutting the image with the deep cut blade. I then stamped straight onto my paper. This way I have a stamp of the girl instead of a paper girl. I could embellish her with gel pens rather than more paper. Here shoes, which are the focal point this week, are metallic silver!

I added a computer generated stamp that says, "So many shoes, so hard to choose!"

Just Because

Put a Smile on a Friend's Face:)

I think I would smile if my friend sent me a card in the mail and told me I was a Moo-Velous friend:) I tore the patterned cloud paper and paired it with brown paper to make it look like there are mountains in the background. Of course the cute little cow is cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. I added some stitching and ribbon along with a couple of gems and googly eyes and my "Just Because" card was complete! Let me know what you think. You know how much I love hearing from you!

Happy Birthday to You

Cuttlebug Challenge: Be Inspired #101

This rockin' card was a custom made birthday card that I just made for a lovely woman celebrating her 75th birthday:) I was asked to find vintage clothing to dress her and superimpose her head onto the clothing. I found this poodle skirt, blouse, and scarf on the internet in an advertisement. I loved it. The skirt has little records all over it and is pink and black!! So cute:)

I wanted the woman to be the focal point so I didn't add much to the card. I used the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to emboss the background. I added a stamp and a computer generated sentiment.

Button Up For School/Throw Back Thursday Challenges

Button Up For School Challenge

Throw Back Thursday Challenge

This week the challenge at FCCB was to create a project with the theme back to school and the project had to include a button. At My Creative Time, we were asked to use our choice of old Cricut cartridges to make a project and I chose Everyday Paper Dolls. I made a thank you card for a teacher that showed a student giving her teacher an apple:)

The FCCB challenge requires that there is at least one item on the project that comes from the Cricut. The girl was cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge.

The button, which was the other requirement this week at FCCB, was added over the stamp which says "class notes."

If you liked how this card turned out, let me know. I love reading all the comments!

Recipe:

Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge- Apple
Stamps- "Thank You" and "Class Notes"

A big THANK YOU to Ms. Karen for donating a container (and I mean a ton) of buttons to Funky Cards! I really appreciate your kindness Ms. Karen. I was so excited to get all of these great buttons. You may recognize the red button on this card. It came from YOU! Thank you again!

Kids Just Want To have Fun Blog Hop

Welcome to our Kids Just Want to Have Fun blog Hop.

Our fantastic hostess today is Jess from KinderStampO.

If you arrived here from Liz' Paper Loft you are in the right place and ready for a new project. If you happened here by chance, you can start from the beginning if you want by clicking HERE.

Today we will be sharing with you a variety of projects that you can create with your kids, young and old, boys and girls.

I hope you take the time to visit each site to see what each of these talented crafters have to share with you. There will also be prizes offered by both the bloggers and by our sponsors! So you won't want miss out!

I love to paint, so for my project I decided to combine the Cricut and painting. I think it is much easier for younger kids to paint if they have a traced image to follow and with the hundreds of images that you have stored on your Cricut cartridges, the opportunities are endless!

As you can see above the first thing you need to do is cut out the images that you want to paint using your Cricut cartridge. For this example, the dinosaurs are cut 5", volcano 3", leaves 2.25 and 1.75," and tree 3.5".

Next, trace the images onto your canvas. You can use any size canvas. In this example, I used a 7" x 14" canvas.

Here is a close-up of the images after they were traced onto the canvas. You can place them anywhere that you want to create any scene that you would like. The idea is that you are creating your own picture.

Once the images have been traced, you can begin painting. When I go out of the lines, I just make the image slightly thicker! No one will ever know. It happens!! It's ok!! Don't get upset kids!!

I try to paint all of the same color before moving on to the next color. It makes it easier to clean the brush only once. You don't have to do this if you haven't planned out all the colors.

For those of you who don't typically paint, paint brushes are numbered. It is easier to paint smaller areas using a smaller numbered brush. For example, a child could use a #3 or #4 paint brush to paint the larger sections of the dinosaur and volcano in this picture. I like to use a #1 paint brush when painting thinner areas. You can typically find the # of the paint brush on the side of the brush.

You can add your second color when you are ready. You can be as creative as you want! It is your painting!

Your project may or may not look like this. You may choose to use different colors and different images all together. The idea is to create what is fun for you!

This is an example of another project that you could do. You could do these projects with both boys and girls, both younger and older children depending on what images you choose to paint.

I painted this project for my bedroom using all of the different fonts that I could find. This could be done by an older child with a steady hand!

I hope these paintings have inspired you to get out the paint brushes and see what masterpieces your kids can come with! I think it is fun to paint on rainy days:)
