KinderStampO Altered Frame Halloween Hop

October 15th-October 16th

Today's blog hop is being hosted by Jess at KinderStampO.  

If you arrived from Celine's blog, you are in the right place, if

For my Halloween project, I decided to first pick the photo I

wanted to frame and then design a project around that

photo. I am a firm believer that when creating a project

there is always room for creativity and in this case just

because this is a Halloween project, that doesn't

necessarily mean I had to head for the orange

and black paper.

In fact, once I knew I was going to design a project around
Dalton's cowboy photo, I thought it would be cute to make
this project brown, blue, and yellow.


Howdy Halloween!! 
Dalton just loved using the arm of the couch for his horse, 
but I made him one using the Create a Critter Cricut 
cartridge. He was a cute little cowboy in 1995 so the 
year was added in the badge:) The three yellow 
buttons were added to the frame to draw your eye 
from the star at the top to the bottom of the project.

Red, Black, and White Challenge

Welcome to Funky Cards

I took a picture with my friend Peter at our Winter Formal last year and hadn't done anything with it yet.  I wanted to make it into a card or a small canvas and give it to him because he is a good friend.   

I saw that Celebrate the Occasion is having a Red, Black, and White challenge.  I was inspired to create a canvas for their challenge since those are the colors Peter and I are wearing in our photo.

The Formal Occasions Cricut cartridge was used to create the formal couple.  Sorry about the lighting.  The project was finished with Mod Podge to give it a glossy look and it didn't photograph well.

Welcome to the Cakes, Cupcakes, and Teddy Bears Cooking With Cricut challenge.  Monday the 11th is National Cake Decorating Day, Tuesday the 18th the Chocolate Cupcake Day, and Wednesday the 12th is Bring Teddy to Work Day:)  We will be celebrating all of these at once!!  Doesn't that sound fun?

Today I want to share a card with you that I made for my mom to give to my brother Dalton for his upcoming birthday.  Dalton is still in Connecticut finishing up the last of his training and this will be his first birthday away from home.

Dalton calls our mom "Mommy Bear" so in California you can see this adorable Create a Critter teddy bear ready to celebrate with her party hat! In Connecticut, Dalton with his cute little Peachy Keen face, wishes he could be home with the family:)

Good morning and welcome back to My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesdays.  I hope to inspire you with my work today and to encourage you to try something new! As you know, each week I will be sharing with you new cards that I have designed and adding a few tips that I have learned along the way. 

I am super excited that for the month of October, Ethan Pinter will be receiving the "I Feel the Love Project" cards to help him celebrate his 2nd birthday.  If you are not familiar with my project,  please click on the link to see what this is all about:)  I would love for you all to be a part of this!!!  The card I have designed today is the birthday card I will be sending to Ethan:) 

This adorable frog is holding a cupcake with the #2 to represent Ethan's 2nd birthday.  I chose to use greens and reds with a hint of blue because that says "all boy" to me!  And what boy doesn't love frogs?  I love the chunky look of the fonts that you can find on the Robtoz Cricut cartridge.  This is a font that you must explore if you haven't already done so!!

***Today's tip- Modifying a cut.  If you have a design in mind but you don't have a Gypsy, you can still make things happen!!

Here is what the cupcake looks like on the From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge if you make it as is.

And here is what it looks like if you modify it for a specific card like I did.  The cherry and stem have been removed and the #2 have been added using the Simply Sweet Cricut cartridge.  Ethan is celebrating his 2nd birthday and I wanted a #2 on his cupcake not a cherry.  Easy enough!!  Don't be afraid to switch things up and use what you have:)
