With Sympathy

Today I continue as the guest designer for The Crafty Card Gallery.  For today's inspiration, I designed a sympathy card.  I have heard from many other crafters that sympathy cards are some of the hardest cards to design.  My hope is that this card will inspire you to try one if you haven't tried one before.

This is known as a "Joy Fold" card.  It is a smaller card attached to a larger card.
The outside is stamped with a Bible verse.

On the inside I added a second stamped sentiment and a butterfly cut out
from the Wall Decor and More Cricut cartridge.

By pulling back the page with the butterfly you can see that
there is a place for the person to write a note.

I hope I have inspired you.  Have a wonderful day.

Have a "Rockin" Birthday

This week I was asked to be the guest designer for The Crafty Card Gallery blog.  I will be posting new cards on my blog that will be appearing on The Card Gallery blog on the same day.

Today I have designed a birthday card that I think is pretty "Rockin."

It says, "Have a Rockin Birthday!"

This totally cute digi stamp can be found at The Stamping Boutique.
They sell a lot of really cute stamps there.

I just added a computer generated sentiment to finish it off:)  What do you think.  Leave me a comment if you get a chance:)  Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Pink Stamper DT Call and Challenge

Robyn at My Pink Stamper currently has two openings for her DT and is holding a challenge for these positions.  The challenge includes designing a project with the colors pink, green, and brown.  You can use an additional (optional) color if you choose.

Robyn, I am entering your DT call because I would love the chance to be on your DT.  You have been an inspiration to me since the very first time I clicked onto your blog.  I discovered your You Tube videos and I was hooked.  I watched for hours at a time!

For your DT call, I designed a birthday card that doubles as a gift card holder.  I know many women like to treat their friends to coffee so this card has a place to put a gift card to your favorite cafe.

This is a "Joy Fold" card.
Joy Fold cards are made by attaching a smaller card to a larger card.  On the front you can see the sweet dog cut at 3" from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.  The computer generated sentiment says "On Your Special Day."

As you open the card on the left you will see a warm, steaming cup of coffee cut at 3" from the Wall Decor and More Cricut cartridge with the word "coffee" cut at 1" from the From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge.  On the right is a computer generated sentiment that says, "Hope you can get away and have a cup on me!"

As you open up the card to the inside you will find a Happy Birthday greeting and a pocket that will hold a gift card.  You will need to add 4 brads to attach the pocket.  You can also attach adhesive to the bottom of the pocket but it is not necessary to add adhesive to the sides.  You want to make sure the gift card will fit into the pocket.  This must all be done prior to attaching the smaller and larger cards together.

Here is the inside of the finished card!!!  On the left you will see a place to write a special note to the birthday gal.

Dimensions:
Brown paper: 9" x 4.25" score at 3.5 (left side) - Large card
      8.5" x 3" (fold in half) - Small card

Green paper: 4" x 1.75" (for the pocket)
           2 cuts of 4" x 2.75"
           2 cuts of 4" x 3.25"
5.25" x 4"   .

I hope I have inspired you to try a Joy Fold card if you have never tried one before.  If you still need further directions don't hesitate to send me an email.  I would be happy to help.  My email address is posted on my blog on the left side bar.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you Robyn for the chance to enter your DT call!
