Today we will be sharing with you a variety of projects that you can create with your kids, young and old, boys and girls.

I love to paint, so for my project I decided to combine the Cricut and painting. I think it is much easier for younger kids to paint if they have a traced image to follow and with the hundreds of images that you have stored on your Cricut cartridges, the opportunities are endless!
As you can see above the first thing you need to do is cut out the images that you want to paint using your Cricut cartridge. For this example, the dinosaurs are cut 5", volcano 3", leaves 2.25 and 1.75," and tree 3.5".
Next, trace the images onto your canvas. You can use any size canvas. In this example, I used a 7" x 14" canvas.
Here is a close-up of the images after they were traced onto the canvas. You can place them anywhere that you want to create any scene that you would like. The idea is that you are creating your own picture.
Once the images have been traced, you can begin painting. When I go out of the lines, I just make the image slightly thicker! No one will ever know. It happens!! It's ok!! Don't get upset kids!!
I try to paint all of the same color before moving on to the next color. It makes it easier to clean the brush only once. You don't have to do this if you haven't planned out all the colors.
For those of you who don't typically paint, paint brushes are numbered. It is easier to paint smaller areas using a smaller numbered brush. For example, a child could use a #3 or #4 paint brush to paint the larger sections of the dinosaur and volcano in this picture. I like to use a #1 paint brush when painting thinner areas. You can typically find the # of the paint brush on the side of the brush.
You can add your second color when you are ready. You can be as creative as you want! It is your painting!
Your project may or may not look like this. You may choose to use different colors and different images all together. The idea is to create what is fun for you!
This is an example of another project that you could do. You could do these projects with both boys and girls, both younger and older children depending on what images you choose to paint.
I painted this project for my bedroom using all of the different fonts that I could find. This could be done by an older child with a steady hand!
