I make birthday cards whenever I have a spare minute or two and keep them in my stash. This month, I de-stashed for Sheffield House, a very worthy cause. Also, today I am in a Lemonade Blog Hop. I made a banner for a Lemonade stand. I sent it along to you too for Sheffield House, thinking that they could use it on a lemonade-day for the families at the house, or they could sponsor a Lemonade Day fundraiser for Sheffield House.

There is a national fundraising organization that does a similar thing: it's called Alex's Lemonade Stands. It was started locally by a little girl named Alexandra Scott. Alex had cancer, and as she fought the disease (and has lost her battle), she started lemonade stands to raise money for cancer research. Through her concept, she and others who followed in her footsteps have raised $55 million and provide grants to more than 250 research foundations worldwide, all in an effort to find a cure for cancer.

So a little cup of lemonade can start many a smile, so I hope my banner launches a few smiles.

Fondly,
Ellen ♥ CardMonkey
http://cardmonkeyspaperjungle.com
E-mail: cardmonkey@comcast.netEllen Jarvishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17932914906202298059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827526778321590357.post-22288092252071497422012-07-08T06:29:55.791-07:002012-07-08T06:29:55.791-07:00Suzanne your are rocking these cards. I am eager to jump in and help with this next project. cards and banners come to mind. Should we try to make things like cupcake picks and treat boxes also? If so, is there a certain number we should make in order to ensure that there is one for every child?

Jani
papercompulsions@gmail.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11124612377527090962noreply@blogger.com
